Due to their handcrafted nature, hand-dyed yarn skeins can be different from each other, even if they come from the same batch of dye. To ensure a beautiful transition of colour when you start a new ball, especially with semi-solid and polychrome colours, we suggest you alternate the rows of the skein that ends with the new one coming in.
The effect of self-striping colours will be maximized in small circumference knits such as stockings, socks, mittens, hats and scarves.
Due to the difference between the pixels of the different monitors and their adjustments, you may notice a difference between the actual colour and the image that you see on your screen.
Although all our yarns are pre-washed after each dyeing bath, it is possible to observe a slight colour outflow during the first washings. By diluting in the wash water, this excess dye can affect the adjacent colours (especially when it comes to white). For this reason, we recommend washing your knitting for the first time by hand in cold water (and always in cold water for subsequent washings). Superwash (also known as SW or "anti-feutrable" in French) means that the yarn has been chemically treated to avoid felting so that you can wash your clothes in the washing machine. However, to preserve your garment and colour as long as possible, we recommend washing your knits in cold water and drying them flat in all cases.
Inventory and Delivery
Most of our products are available in stores and will be delivered within 48 business hours of your order. However, an item you have selected may not be in inventory at the time you placed your order. In this case, an additional period of up to 30 days may apply before the delivery of your order. Some products, such as the knitting club "Biscotte Mystery Sock Club" are delivered on a predetermined date identified in the product description. If you order another item with the "Biscotte Mystery Sock Club," the additional item will be delivered at the same time as the knitting club on the indicated date. If you do not want to wait, please order your items separately.
The majority of our parcels are delivered by Canada Post. The available delivery options are displayed during payment. Deliveries to Canada are all available with a tracking number. For overseas deliveries, if you wish to obtain a tracking number, you must select "Tracket Packet - International" (or the following options). The "Free Shipping with orders of $100 or more" is done by airplane without tracking number.
The majority of our parcels are delivered in Tyvec envelopes for their lightness, strength and impermeability. Be careful not to use sharp objects like scissors to open your parcel, you could also cut the contents inadvertently.
